We use the Present
Continuous for what someone has arranged to do in the future.
- I am meeting Tom at four
o’clock.
- Nicole is going to Paris next
week.
- We are having a part a party next
Saturday. Would you like to come?
- What time are you arriving?
We
use the Present Simple for the future when we talk about timetable, program etc.
- My train leaves at 11.30, so I need to
be at the station by 11.15.
- What time does the film start this
evening?
- I start my new job on Monday.
- What time does the train arrive?
- The art exhibition finishes on 6
April.
