Present tenses for the future

We use the Present Continuous for what someone has arranged to do in the future.
  • am meeting Tom at four o’clock.
  • Nicole is going to Paris next week.
  • We are having a part a party next Saturday. Would you like to come?
  • What time are you arriving?

We use the Present Simple for the future when we talk about timetable, program etc.
  • My train leaves at 11.30, so I need to be at the station by 11.15.
  • What time does the film start this evening?
  • start my new job on Monday.
  • What time does the train arrive
  • The art exhibition finishes on 6 April.
